A serious multi-vehicle accident caused major chaos Wednesday along the Mexico-Querétaro Highway after a trailer reportedly lost control and crashed into several vehicles near Huehuetoca in the State of Mexico.

Authorities confirmed the collision occurred at kilometer 059+000 on the busy highway corridor heading toward Mexico City. The crash temporarily blocked multiple lanes and triggered a large emergency response as rescue crews rushed to assist those involved.

Trailer Reportedly Unable to Stop in Time

According to preliminary reports, the trailer driver was approaching the Jorobas intersection when the vehicle allegedly failed to brake in time.

The truck first collided with a roadside embankment before crashing into several vehicles traveling ahead. Officials said at least five passenger cars and one pickup truck were involved in the collision.

Following the impact, the trailer reportedly jackknifed across the roadway, blocking all three north-to-south lanes and causing severe traffic congestion in the area.

Emergency crews quickly arrived to secure the scene and redirect traffic while rescue operations were underway.

Authorities stated that heavy rain earlier in the day left road surfaces wet and potentially dangerous for drivers.
